EFD (Economic Flat Device) cores are flat, low-profile ferrite shapes that minimise height, enabling slim adapters, TV power supplies, LED drivers and high-density SMPS. Their rectangular winding window supports higher power density and better thermal handling than round EP types at similar volume. Typical uses include AC-DC adapters, set-top boxes, lighting ballasts and compact industrial supplies. Selection should consider available board height, output power and EMC / standby-efficiency requirements.

ER (Economic Rectangular) cores are medium-to-high-power ferrite shapes with a large winding window for high-power SMPS, PFC (power-factor-correction) chokes and industrial power stages. They deliver strong power handling, low core loss and good heat dissipation, suiting communication / base-station supplies and rugged industrial equipment. Many parts support wide input ranges (e.g. 90-264VAC) and reinforced insulation. Select by power level, operating temperature (-40 to +85C typical) and the required safety / EMC standards.

Drive transformers provide isolated gate signals for IGBT, SiC and MOSFET switches in VFD / servo drives, inverters and motor-control systems. They are optimised for fast dv/dt, low leakage inductance and a stable 1:1 (or custom) turns ratio to faithfully transfer gate pulses while isolating the control side. Common in automotive traction / OBC, PV inverters and industrial motor drives. Choose by isolation withstand, dv/dt tolerance and the gate-drive topology of your power device.
